I have a Bank of America credit card and want to change it to another Bank of America card with better rewards. Is there a way to do this without losing credit report history of the old card? How would I do this?
When doing a product change, or upgrade with the same lender you'd typically retain all your history from the original account... you just ask them for the PC, or upgrade if eligible.
One option is to apply for a new card and just leave the old one, is there some reason you want to limit cards? Beyond that, even if you close a card, it stays on your credit report for up to 10 years and contributes to account age metrics.

you ask for a 'product change' to the new product, give a call to support and ask them
with BoA it's hit or miss if they will let you or not, depends on your product, how old it is, etc.

Welcome to the forum.
Yes you should call customer service, tell them you would like to 'product change' the one card into the other, and ask if you can do it without losing the credit history of the old card.
They will probably say yes.
If they say no, call back another day.

Lol, that's good advice for a lot of issues. I sometimes forget that.
