What were your scores when you got the CLI over $10,000? Mine are 740-750, I just got a CLI denial letter for the first time from them, instead of saying ‘too many recent credit limit increases on this account’ it says too many inquiries, new accounts, age of accounts, loan balances. Ugh.
Pretty much everyone gets that laundry list of boilerplate reasons at one time or another, sometimes even when their CLI is approved. The real reason is almost certainly that the computer didn't think you matched whatever it's got programmed into it at this point in time for CLI approvals.
I got a small collection of denial letters. They usually came with only a single reason listed. The 2 most popular ones that I remember were:
- Not enough experience with current limit
- Requested limit increase exceeds what our policy allows
The last denial simply said: Too many requests for credit line increases.
At that point, I stopped hitting the luv button because it seemed like they were getting annoyed
I waited about 2 months, and called CS to finally get my approval to $25k.
I dont hav the PP 2%, but I do have the PP Extra MC and its limit is $14.5k
