Got this email for my Marvel MasterCard.
I know this has been a gripe with Synchrony for awhile. The red headed stepchild (PayPal) is not supported yet, I tried it. Maybe soon?

Is this different from simply adding a card to ApplePay/Samsung Pay/Google Pay, i.e. some extra wallet infrastructure?
The PPMC can be added to Samsung and Google pay

No it's the same as adding to a mobile wallet (that's what they're called). I tried to add PayPal to Apple Pay and it kicked back saying it's not supported. Let me try Google Pay.
PayPal worked on Google Pay up to the point that they were supposed to send me a text message to verify. Neither one of my numbers received anything. I don't plan to actually use it so it's no big deal.
I wonder why Apple Pay doesn't work. The terms and conditions they sent through were for both android and iOS so maybe they just have an issue with my card.
If they keep cutting CL's what good is a mobile wallet to anyone? lol
Kidding aside, it's nice that they finally joined the band wagon and offered this service. However i do agree that with the existence of other wllaets was it really a pressing need? I mean for simplicity sake, having all in one app makes sense. So coming late to the party isn't a good look.
As for the totally hands free appraoch, it's not exactly like you can go throogh checkout without toching that infernal machine at least once.
I still perfer tap & pay.

This isn't a new wallet, they're announcing support for existing ones - Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. If you look at the bottom of the image, the icons for each of them are there.
Just added my Marvel MC to Apple Pay and slightly (very) disappointed that it uses some generic image rather than the Spider-man version I actually have on my card. Know it's not a big deal but is a slight annoyance to me. Same thing happens to Discover; wish Apple would let you set custom images.

I was able to add my PPMC to samsung pay, but I had to call in the CS to have them enter the number for me. That is the only way to get the verification code to generate.
I had my Ebates/Rakuten Visa in my Samsung Pay wallet over a year ago?
Took a photo of the card with the app and it added no problem. The only card that I couldn't add was my *always quirky* Cap One Union Plus MC. It spit back as card not supported.
They are definitely playing favorites.
Last October they opened up mobile wallets for the CareCredit Mastercard, but there's still no love for the Sam's Club Mastercard (I just tried again).
