Most store cards are credit cards, which allow you to carry a balance.   A charge card is one that requires full payment each month.  Does Target have a cobrand with VISA or MC?

Re: TARGET STORE CARD REPORTING

OP, EQ just alerted me to the change too.

This is the card formerly known as "Target Red Card" which was the store charge card. Target recently did a rebranding of this card and it is now called a "Target Credit Card" which coincides to the reporting change. It's still the same-old, same-old $200, $500, or $1000 CLs we all have come to know and love with a near-zero possibility of any CLIs in the future (going on 3 yrs at $200 myself). BTW, prior to the change, my reporting said "revolving".

Re: TARGET STORE CARD REPORTING

Thanks for the information, I have had this awful card since 2008 with absolutly  no cli's only reason why I am holding onto this card is it was my 1st unsecured card in my rebuilding process and I do not know if closing it will affect anything but buying bread and toilet paper every 2 months is about all the rewards this bank will get from me!!!

Re: TARGET STORE CARD REPORTING

My reporting changed to credit card as well, but it was closed about a year ago by Target after 7 months of on time payments ($500 limit).   I had chkg accounts at two different banks and paid online from the wrong acct ONE TIME, and when I realized the mistake, I made another payment from the correct account and let the original payment get returned.  They closed the account just based on that.

The status changed to closed by consumer this month also.  Does that mean I can apply for another one?

Re: TARGET STORE CARD REPORTING

I just got an alert this morning.  Target is reporting as a credit card for me as well.  I went through my credit report and only Visa, and Mastercard report as credit cards.  All of my store cards report as charge accounts.  I was hoping that this would mean something good.  I am holding out for a Target Visa.  Maybe someday. : )
