OK, so they just issued a new TD Cash rewards card to replace the old TD Cash Rewards card. Difference is 2% at resteraunts and no FTF...really with cards in my wallet like Citi DC with 1%+1% on everything...how is this going to encourage me to use that card. Why did they have to reissue another card, just to an extra 1% at resteraunts and remove the FTF...I do not get it!!!
Nobody knows...

Well, I am glad I am not the only one scratching my head over this...new card...still makes no sense, the old card had the chip and everything. Really strange.
Because most people in the real world pay little attention to the various cards available and have no idea there are 2% everything cards. Most people just get a card from their bank (i.e, TD!) or whatever is advertised the most, and use it for most or all purchases. No reason for TD to give out extra rewards when most people are just fine with 2% dining, 1% elsewhere.

But why did they have to reissue the card to the same name card, with the same credit card numbers, but different expiration date just to add 1% more for dining and eliminate the FTF? Why did they not just tell all customers you can now get 2% reward for dining and we've eliminated FTF! The old card already had the chip, so that can't be the reason...it's a mystery why they felt the need to send a new card.

Because TD Bank want to simplify their Bank Credit Card offerings. That’s why they did the change and have the TD Cash card as their main credit card for their consumers. Yes, there are better cash back cards than the TD Card. This is another no annual fee-No FTF Visa you can get in the market.
Keep in mind the TD Bank credit cards (not the store cards they issue like Target, etc.) are only offered in the East Coast excluding Georgia. If outside these states, denial.
P.S.: I work for the bank.
The reduction in FTF has been said in the press to be the next offering/benefit on credit cards. The incrase/change/trend from previous years from a large sampling of card issuers seems to be catching.
