I use monthly subscriptions and monthly charitable deductions to keep cards active when I don't want to use them much. I know just how much will post when, and all the cards show activity every month.
As I am not applying for credit I let the balances post and then PIF, but if I wanted very low util I could easily pif in advance as I kbow how much will be charged
