Taaaargh-et

I was so excited about getting approved in-store for the Target card, since I needed a store card.

It finally came in the mail, and its the Target Visa. Does that still count as a store card? (I'm SURE this answer is already here somewhere, but I can't find it)

No, it's counted as a bank card, since it has Visa on it, but on the other hand, you've vaulted over everyone who has the store card and can't get the Visa. Smiley Happy

We need to set up some sort of trade arrangement for situations like this, lol.

We need a whiny smiley.

Okay then, I guess I'm stuck with a Visa with a 600 limit. Back to the storecard drawing board!

Re: Taaaargh-et

Oh, well, it's another healthy tradeline reporting for you.

Since you're just re-establishing credit after returning to the US, I wouldn't be in an incredible hurry about getting the magic mix of cards. Mix is nice, but clean credit history is a bunch nicer. Once you have 6 months of multiple TL's reporting, you should be able to get a Macy's/ Bloomie's, Kohl's, Nordstrom, etc card. In fact, you can probably get them now, especially Macy's, but in a couple of months, you'll probably know better where you really like to shop.

Store cards can be a PITA to keep up with, so it's useful to get one from a store that you really like.

BTW, I went shopping at Tarzhay last week and whipped out my $10K CL CC, expecting to see an invite on the receipt. Nada, nil, zilch. Smiley Very Happy

Way too nice. Everywhere else is benefiting from the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay except us. We're just green covered by dust. Smiley Sad We would have happily taken some of that rain from Florida and brought it up here.

Re: Taaaargh-et

Not me. I went to a concert at Wolf Trap this weekend, and if it had rained I'd have cried.

Oh well--off to Target! See if I can charge under 300 dollars! Stupid card.

Re: Taaaargh-et

My CL was 600, which.....not a lot of help, you know? And the purchase I got it with was 300, so it's already half "full"!

I didn't really apply, but I did use my Amex on a big purchase, and they offered it to me. Which, since I was PRETTY sure that would happen, could count as applying!

It wasn't the Irish Tenors was it? DW and I thought about going when tickets sales were first announced.
