Right now all I have is a First Premier card so the mix would help. Maybe I'll give it a shot just before the 30 days runs out.
Oh, then as Peas said, you def. should. That's awesome for you. They were one of my first, along with First Premier as well. Treat them both well and let them age a bit and you'll be climbing the credit ladder in no time!

This may seem like a silly question...but how much was your purchase with your debit card? I'm trying to figure out if there is a $$ amount that triggers the pre approval. TIA

Hey everyone,
I was at Target earlier tonight buying some stuff. When I paid (using my debit/MasterCard) the cashier asked if I wanted to apply for a Target card. I declined, since I suspect I would be declined. I want to wait a few more months to get my scores up a little more before worrying about diversifying.
Anyway, when she handed me the receipt there was a second receipt with my name that said I was pre-approved for a Target card. I've never gotten one of those before. I didn't do anything with it because I was kind of shocked and it's good for a month.
Anyone know if this is anything other than a marketing ploy?
Thanks.
