Hello Forums,
To those that have Target Red Card check your e-mails for below offer. Today and tomorrow only 10% off gift cards up to $500 purchase.
I maxed this last year and I'll do it again tomorrow. Even though it's a Target Circle Offer it doesn't have to be purchased using the Red Card. I distinctly remember that from last year as the sweetener. The 10% discount does not go away at Checkout if you switch cards. Fortunately it extends through October 1. That will allow me to use one of my Freedom cards to receive an extra 5% back using PayPal. Or the same thing is available through the end of tonight using Discover and PayPal.
If you use the Red Card at checkout it does not lower the price an extra 5% off, per norm. That's why strategic switching is helpful.
The $500 in gift cards gave me great flexibility this year because Target was forced to shift inventory dramatically based on the reality of changed consumer spendings habits from stimulus era to beyond. They had ordered electronics that were no longer in demand once they reached the shelves. Consequently I got a 55 inch TCL Roku television for $155 and the same model 32 inch for $79. Slickdeals is very good at identifying Target clearance deals that aren't advertised on the clearance signs and even the employees don't know about them. But once you ask for the item to be scanned sure enough the price is dramatically lower. I also got a rotating composter at more than 50% off in that manner.
I don't expect the same type of situational influence bargains in 2023 but you never know...
Really? Wonder why the claim at top of flyer stating to be for Red card holders. I've had Red card 4 years now & can't recall such past offers for gift cards, glad I did this time. Appreciate the heads up certainly. I have no Chase cards but my 2nd Disco didn't max out on 5% category, so do you think I could squeeze this in on Disco before midnight for the additional 5% there? I'm not quite sure if the charge has to fully post or would I be fine with the charge as Pending?
Ok that's what I thought, charges have to post to account by quarter end. Quick chat just confirmed that. No biggie. Congrats to those with Chase card to take advantage of more savings, and awesome deal on that TV last year, what a steal!
@Bestman79 If you have mobile wallet, you could still use one of your Discover cards to get this deal today with that being apart of this quarter's new category spend.

Ok, bought $500 worth of Target cards tonight (10-01-22) for 10% instant off. Paid with Chase Freedom through PayPal for another 5% off the $450. I thought it was all gift cards that Target sells but when I tried to buy ebay gift cards, it didn't show 10%. So instead of $300 Target / $200 ebay, $500 Target it was. Either way, super cool! ![]()
It works out to be a 14.5% savings on $500 of Target gift cards. $72.50 savings off of $500.
But to be completely technical, it is really 'only' 9.5% additional off because we'd all still get 5% off with our Red Cards anyway for our next $500 Target purchases. So it's really a $47.50 savings beyond what we'd normally get with our next $500 Target spend. But, I'll take it!
