I'm still viewing my reports and DH since Jan!

I have to ask: for those with apparently higher moral standards, why is this OK?   Isn't this a misuse of a feature intended for disputing incorrect information.  You are using a backdoor to get something for free that you should pay for (a new credit report from the bureau in question).   Is this so  very different from b*?

Edit: well, maybe B* is a too strong example, but say, telling a lender that you sent in a document on time that you in fact didn't send, to use a recent example.

What does this mean ===> "Is this so  very different from b*?"

B* is something very naughty, so that is why I changed my example!

I am not disputing information. I am using the View Your Reports again. If I were to dispute information the report has an investigation number usually 01-03.

I am not disputing something that did not happen - referring to telling a lender I mailed in a form timely and disputing the additional inquiry

No, but is the report meant to be available 7 months later without paying for a new one?  Probably not.  Does it work? Yes.  Is that OK?  For me, yes!  But the vendor probably didn't intend this.  You are not actually viewing the original report again (which would be OK), you are getting an updated version for free.

As I said, that's not a problem for me.  But I have lower standards than some.

Re: Thanks for the helpful tip!

The vendor you are referring to is Experian. The report was free in the first place. It is a flaw that this particular backdoor exists? then I am exploiting it. The other report that comes after a dispute or an adverse action IS only good for 90 days.

Yes.  To deconfuse, it is also called bumpage, a technique frowned on in this forum.
