Oh god finally..! I waited for this so long..! time and time again I called their customer rep asking for a product change or a CLI for my $750 visa card. Every time the answer I got was "it is not possible at this time, but if you keep using your card.. blah blah blah" or alternatively "we're a more conservative lender and we're proactively blah blah blah.."

After getting my total CL to 25K, i finally decided to take some action.. Today I called them and ask for a product change, got the excuse number one.. then asked for a CLI and got the excuse number two.. And then I said, oh well.. then cancel my card..

He immediately forwarded my call to a senior account manager, which offered me a $300 increase.. I said, well I have two other cards with 10K balances with rewards programs, what do you expect me to do with this $1050 CL? Then she went up to $500 CL, but still didn't offer the product change.. I said thank you for your very generous offer but I really don't see any reason to keep this card, so please cancel it..

It felt so good!! Now I can't wait until I go home and cut it in 38 pieces.. I know a $1200 credit would help my utilization like 3-4%, but for me getting rid of this pain in the ass bank was priceless

I guess you craped on them since they were crapping on you.  I havent been crap1'nd yet.  However, they are not giving me any CLI's now.  The response I received in writing stated something to the effect that "I have not maintained my current credit limit for 6 months".  What is that about??  They may be referrring to usage or maybe I have to keep my cards at the 1600 dollar limits they are at right now for a certain time period before they give me an increase.

They give you all the possible excuses on the earth in order not to give a CLI..! I was very entertained when the senior rep said "well let's give you a much greater flexibility then.. how about a $300 CLI?" I couldn't resist laughing.

I wish for once when they said "we're a conservative lender" I remembered to answer "well, I'm a smart customer"..
