So...
I didn't have a US Airways Divident account, so Barclays kindly set me up with one. Gave me the number and everything. Called AAdvantage today to merge it with my AAdvantage account, which I've had for 6 years. AAdvantage can't find the US Airways account. In fact, the kind lady said that over the weekend (I applied/was approved Sunday night, late), the computer should have forbidden them from even creating one, since the merge was happening. Told me to call Barclays and have them put my AAdvantage account on the card.
Called Barclays. Woman saw my US Airways Divident account #, which AAdvantage couldn't find, and told me it needed to be straightened out by the airline and that she couldn't do anything.
Going to call AAdvantage again in the morning, but do any of you have advice? I just hesitate to even use the card when it comes, because I don't know where my miles are going to be going.

Use your card, get your bonus, and merge the two AA accounts into one. You should be able to login into AA.com with your dividend miles #, and it will create an AAdvantage account #. Then just call AA customer service and have them merge the two AA accounts. Voila.
Right, but AAdvantage can't find any record of the new US Airways account. The website couldn't find it, nor could the woman I spoke to on the phone.
So I'm worried that the miles are going to be pouring into an account that doesn't exist or, at the very least, is unaccounted for.
If you are trying to merge accounts, make sure everying on the 2 accounts match. Name, phone number, etc.. So for example, if you put your name as John A. Smith on the Barclays US Air card, and put John Smith on the AA card, it will never merge. Everything has to match and once that is so, you can even do it yourself online or call.
I learn the hard way after they did the same thing to me as they did to you. I spent 2 hours on the phone and I wanted to eat someone alive...

Do you have your Dividend miles # yet?
Yes, the CSR at Barclays gave it to me yesterday. It was apparently setup on Sunday.
Barclays' computer sees it, and thinks it's valid, but AA has no record of the account. And Barclays won't just put my existing AAdvantage # into the system. The girl said she couldn't touch anything related to the rewards program, it's the airline's responsibility. And the airline directed me to Barclays this morning..

@Anonymous contacting barclays via facebook or twitter (Barclaycard US on facebook, and @AskBCUS on twitter). That will put you in contact with the social media team. mucho helpful.
Or try logging in on usair.com, or doing a "forgot password" with your dividend #.
I'll try the Twitter, thank you.
I already tried the "Forgot password?" and nothing worked. ![]()

The US Airways site used to have an area to grant online access for an account. I assume AA has something similar. When you sign up for an AA or other airline card, if you don't have a # already, they generate one for you, and then you need to create your online account.
Hopefully twitter will be helpful.
I don't know if its different for brand new account but when merge happened as soon as you log into us airways account , it will give you your new aa mileage number. If you log in with that mileage number on aa site it will show all your dividend miles in your aa account. It will say something like dividend miles transferred in your account summary.
