Amazon
Hmmmm I wonder if my mom and I are going to get the new cards as well, I'm a AU on her card but I'm the one who has Prime.
if I remember correctly the card should be automatically added to your Amazon account right away on approval. Youshould be able to checkyour payment options and see ifit shows 5%or 3%. That should tell you which one you have.
over the last 2 months I've been looking for a card to become my go to card to earn points to spend on amazon. My Discover miles card ( not IT) has finally increased to a $26k limit after 11 years but 1 point per dollar isn't really cutting it. With this being a 5% back on amazon purchases, I really want to make it my go to card but it is missing one HUGE feature that Discover has.
****Price Protection****
Over the last 4 months I've received back about $56 back from items that dropped in price within 90 days of purchase. I really wish Chase offered this feature but I don't see them doing it.
Should I keep my Discover or app for this card and move my $13k limit from Marriott after I open it?
Thanks

Also, thinking about this more, if you do not show the new card, you may still have an option. Amazon has "Households". This will allow you to add one adult to your Prime account. Since you are both using the same card anyway, you may be able to add your mother and choose to share billing, and set that as your primary card.
Doing the above will also share your Prime benefits with her. According to the Amazon help pages this will be considered a valid Prime membership for the purposes of upgrading her card.

I activated the 5% when I entered the card number at the manage payment page and it shows the new card image. Thanks for the information about adding household members, I didn't know about that. I'll ask her if she want's to be added to my account, right now she just uses my login to watch videos and order whatever she wants. I know she has her own account and our card is linked to both accounts.
Since I already have this card I will reap the benefits..will be nice to have some metal bling in my wallet. I have not been using it much, since most of my amazon shopping was for Christmas and Discover It rotating catagory gave 5%. Now I do not know what I will use the Discover card for.
Ok, so update weirdness is taken care of on the Amazon end, and everything is showing properly.
As a sidenote, has anyone seen the card update on the Chase Portal yet? When I log in to my Chase account, I still see 3% rewards listed, but Amazon shows 5%.

You're welcome.
She would still keep her account, but your Prime benefits (movies, music, etc) would be extended to her account once linked and set up with shared billing. Since you already both use the same card, things would remain pretty much the same in your case, with the exception that she would be able to use her account to access the streaming libraries instead of yours.

The Chase portal is actually where my 'weirdness' is... everything is showing up fine on the Amazon side with my new account, but it's nowhere to be found on the Chase dashboard (as in, the account isn't there at all)... and it's been two days now.
I've sent Chase a SM so hopefully it will be sorted soon.
Edit: Either the SM worked or it sorted itself... the account is now on my Chase dashboard (finally).
