I have a targeted Chase United Explorer offer for 70k, expiring 5/31. I was planning on getting the card, but I am concerned I will be auto-declined. I currently have exactly 5 cards within the last 2 years. Two of those cards were in June 2015 so as of mid-June I will only have 3/24. The problem is I need to apply by the end of May.
What do you all think? Should I try my luck and hope in recon they forgive the few weeks overlap? Anyone had any success going over the 5/24?

Per Chase recon dept, it drops off the following month which would be July 1st for you. But I also have seen evidence of the contrary.
I have the same offer. Is it worth taking?
So I clicked the 70k offer in my email. Then I was playing around with how many points it would take to get to London so I searched for tickets when a 70K plus $50 statement credit (Plus 5k authorized user bonus) offer popped up. So I went ahead and applied. Went to 30 day message but I logged into Chase act and it was there.
So, if you do decide to apply, search for a flight and see if you get the $50 statement credit offer also!
Realistically if you're at 5/24 now then you'll be declined. That offer is targeted to most United mileage members so it isn't some form of preapproval. I wish it was. That offer keeps coming and going so hopefully another one will reappear when you drop to 3/24

Were you over 5/24 when you applied? I see that same offer on my page

I was personally at 4/24 but only 2 of the recent cards aren't showing on my credit reports.. so does that mean I can technically get more cards? March I got CSR and Freedom Unlimited. April I got Amex SPG. May I got Altitude Reserve. Now MileagePlus. (SPG and Altitude not showing on CRAs)

Sure you can get more if Chase will give you more cards and limits. Right now you're at 3/24 (United card counts even if it's not on your reports) until the SPG and Altitude start reporting.

Good Call!!
Thanks for all the feedback. I think I may still try and take my chances by the end of the month. If not, I'll just wait for the offer to come around again. I'm not planning on any other applications anytime soon.
