Re: To app or not to app?

Do a search for cap1, capital 1, capital one etc you'll find tons of threads lol

It can go two ways, you do everything right and they're very good to you, or you do something wrong and they pounce on you like wolves on red meat.

People either love them or hate them Smiley Happy

Re: To app or not to app?

The biggest complaint with Cap one used to be the lack of them reporting CL's-
This is no longer the case after Sept 07-

No the biggest complaints- IMO are-
They pull all 3 CRA's hard on an app and
they do not move you up to a higher tier card w/o a new application/card

Approved or declined, they pull hard inq on all 3 CRA's. Keep that in mind.

It can also go a third way:  You do everything right but they still treat you like you don't know how to use your credit wisely. Smiley Happy

This is actually very common.  How they treat their cardholders seems to be related to the category of card you get when you apply.  If you get a rebuilder card, they treat you like a rebuilder for as long as you have it.

Re: To app or not to app?

S.b.k. I've had Cap1 cards for 8 going on 9 years now. I love them. They serve a niche for many people.

Before applying to them, what are all your current FICO scores? They have a bunch of various types of cc's, from prime cards, to starter/rebuilder cards.

Have you gone to their pre-approval site?

Re: To app or not to app?

I hate the cards that are doing 3 inquiries.
