To those that have the AMEX PRG..

I recently got the PRG, which is my first and only charge card. So my questions are, since you don't carry a balance and have to pay the balance in full every month, do you pay it all at once, or can you can pay some every week, as long as you pay it all off by the due date? And also, is it a bad thing to check spending ability on the app? That was just more of an out of curiosity question. Thanks!

Congratulations on your new card. You can pay daily, if you like, as long as the full balance is paid by the due date.

+1. Just pay your balance on or before your due date each month. If you want to keep your score at its highest, you could pay your bill in full prior to the statement closing date thereby having your PRG report a 0 balance. That's strictly up to you and whether you're trying to keep the absolute highest score possible each month.

What about the check spending ability? I read somewhere in this forum if I remember correctly that it's not really a good idea to hit that button.

If Amex had a problem with checking your spend ability they wouldn't make it accessible to you everyday . That doesn't mean check it 6 times a day but a few times a week wouldn't be a problem .

It's not really so black and white as "good/bad".  No issue using it.  However, some have reported issues from repeatedly using it.  In other words, feel free to use it but don't poke it a lot.

I believe you are limited to check it 3 times every 24 hours, and then it won't let you try anymore. That's what happened to me when I was checking my Platinum card.
