How long does it take for amex starpoints to be credited into an AA account? I would like to hold off on the transfer as long as possible.

I completed this transfer very recently when closing out my SPG account. It took about 1.5 weeks for the miles to appear on my AA account. I vaguely remember seeing some fine print stating that it could take up to 6 weeks I think, which seemed unusual to me.

oh wow I guess I can't wait and will have to do transfer asap. Amex really sucks in this area.
I am not sure if its an amex issue or AA issue. When i tried to redeem my aa points for cathay flight it nearly took an week and half as well. When you contrast it to when i transferred my UR points to United to book on asiana flight, that took less than an hour to get my flight on asiana.

The other thing I wonder is whether or not this is a starwoods issue? I mean to access the points I have to go on a starwoods account. Also, I know it took forever for my AA miles to credit after meeting my citicard AA spend.
