Does anybody know if I can do a balance transfer of my lowes credit card to another credit card? My promotion on lowes is expiring soon. Thanks in advance.
Yes, retail cards can definitely be transferred. Depending on the issuer of the card you are transferring to, you may need to supply the mailing address on your Lowe's statement if the account number is not recognized. (Most lenders are recognized by the BIN, which are the first numbers of a standard Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or Amex.) Make sure you allow the transfer enough time to beat retroactive interest hitting the account!

I don't think there are any restrictions on doing a BT - as long as your new creditor can get a payment to synchrony that is tied to your account number then it should go through.

Any credit card's balance can be transferred. A balance transfer is just a payment sent to the account.

OK thanks. I asked the chat agent on lowes and they said I cannot do a balance transfer. she said if i would initiate it it would get kicked back. I am thinking she may have been talking about just making a regular payment.

CSRs are frequently misinformed, but maybe they thought you were asking about transferring a balance into your Lowe's account?
A BT out will just look like a payment to them so you shouldn't have any issues.
of course you can, but it can't be another synchrony card and I would advise that you find a card that ACTUALLY offers a 0% or similar period. Don't try and BT your lowes card to another card that charges 30% interest. the bad thing about the Synchonry cards is they do that deferred interest where all the back interest from the promo period gets added lol. Believe it or not, some of the old crappy barclay's cards (ie barnes and nobles mc) are VERY EASY to recon and you can 15 mos 0% interest. one of my first prime cards was a travelocity amex that gave me like 0% 12 mos and I got it on recon with I think a 660 FICO and I think it was 8000 limit.
Go check the Discover pre approval tool (cause it wont lower your score!) and theyll do 15 mos 0% interest)
OP: As stated, you will not be allowed to use another Sync backed card (and there are a whole lot) to pay / BT any Lowes balance. Which issuer do you have in mind?
