Travelocity Amex Approved!

I needed a definite TU puller so I decided to app for the Barclays Travelocity Amex. Planning a couple vacations this year and this has decent points. I was instantly approved online for $2500, giving me my highest limit by $500! I want to take advantage of the BT bonus points and use this reason to ask for a cli. Has anyone had success getting a cli after instant approval with Barclays? Most of the threads I read are denial recons. I don't want to push my luck either though, they did just give me my highest limit after all. On a side note...FINALLY time to axe my First Premier!

I would call as you're activating the card.  I've read many CLIs upon approval so hopefully yours will be a success as well!

Re: Travelocity Amex Approved!

Congratulations!

My only advice would be to be very careful with Travelocity, especially booking important air tickets last-minute. I had a very strange and unpleasant experience with them this January - I had to fly from Europe back to the US next day and I was not able to find a good (i.e. cheap and direct) flight on Expedia, which I always use.

I found a flight on Travelocity, booked it, it succesfully authorized my credit card for the full amount of the ticket (I checked it later online), and in the next 3 hours I got 2 emails almost instantly one afther another - the first (!) one - stating that my booking is cancelled by 'revenue protection department', and the second (!!!) one two minutes later - that my booking 'is about to be cancelled if I don't call customer service'.

Apparently they have not even tried to contact me, but simply cancelled my booking. Calling their customer service by its effect was like talking with my grandma - they just replied that they don't have any further information, they don't know the reasons and they don't know if I can try to use this card again.

Just to make it clear - this was a very old CC (MC) in my name that I used dozens of times before to buy tickets on Expedia and other websites. Obviously, I made a decision to not even try to deal with Travelocity anymore. And the worst thing is that when I googled this 'revenue protection department', I reaslised that I'm far from being the only one getting a booking cancelled with no explanation and no apparent reason - there are numerous stories about this mysterious 'revenue protection department' unexpectedly cancelling bookings.

Sorry if it's not that relevant to the initial topic and I hope you'll not have any troubles neither with Travelocity, nor with this card, but I just wanted to let you know that things like this can happen Smiley Sad

In my wallet now: Amex PRG NPSL, Amex BCE $15k $17k (thanks to recent CLI), Chase Freedom 11k, CSP $6k, Chase United ME $5k, Citi Dividend $5.6k, Discover It $4.5k and a handful of other cards...
TU Dec 2013 - 752Sep 2013 - 764 - new all time maximum

Obsolete data aboveCurrent TU - probably around ~810, only using a few Chase & BofA cards now, not applying for much until we buy a house
