Two 5X Rotators?

Part of my end game is to have two Freedom cards because I put the max spend through most of the categories offered.

I think the only way to get two is to do a PC. I was going to get the CSP then PC it in a year to a Freedom then get the reserve. I think PC’n my FU seems like a better bet then applying for a new one.

The idea was to pool my points but I have seen people using chase and disco. I was also thinking of using two freedoms and a disco. I can get the max easily on 3 cards with the categories they offer.

Do you have multiple 5x rotators and does it work for you?

Re: Two 5X Rotators?

Personally, I've alternated between Disco and Chase Freedom with their 5x categories. But for the times in between that, I have been using either my Citi DC or BoA Cash Rewards. I've noticed (in the case of my spending), the difference between 5% vs 3%, is negligible. I'm sure with large spending it'll be more of a difference maker, but for small/minor spending, it's not much of a difference.

I would agree with your approach, convert to the Freedom and use that, also you can get another Discover IT card on the 1 year anniversary of your current Discover card. Most people end up doing that because of the CB Match.

Re: Two 5X Rotators?

I do have 2, Freedom and Discover. As a single person with no kids, an additional 5x rotator wouldn’t benefit me, but if you can swing it and maximize all 3 with your ordinary spend, that’s awesome!
