Correct. I was shocked too at first! lol. After I joined I sent requests to all my credit card companies and companies I had any kind of loan with (auto) and was pleased to find out that not only did the companies that I held a balance with but also those companies that had a zero balance for a while also lowered my interest to 4%. It's been that way ever since and all of them acknowledged and told me that I will remain having this low interest rate until I seperate from the Military, which I do not plan on doing.
When reading the act though it definitely does word it like it is only for debt that already is there prior to joining. But every company gave it to me, so it must be right. IDK, I am not asking questions haha, I will enjoy it
Just wanted to give another update... called today and was told I was approved, 10k CL. Good stuff
Awesome! Congratulations!
Really nice credit line!
See...Prime banks will take care of you. Wait until this card is 6 to 7 months old and app for another prime bank CC.
CONGRATS on your BofA approval!!!!
I know GE is licking their chops trying to get that 4% APR off of that card!!! DON'T TAKE THE DISCOVER BAIT!!!! LOL
I was just thinking about this again. The reason you were not immediately approved for the BoA card was because the computer is not able to approve a CC with such a high credit line. An actual human probably has to look over the app and agree with the computer that yes, he does deserve a 10K CL.
The same thing has happened on this forum before but its been a while ago. Not too many people get huge CL when cards are first issued.
If you are still in the military; or if you have an active duty roommate; sinking; parent or grandparent that is Retired from the military you should join NFCU today!
Ok so I kept reading and decided to edit. Nfcu offers the best credit limits out of any of the major banks and credit unions. I personally have a 25k card; an auto loan at 4% another auto loan at 1,79% as well as a line of credit at 15k. Navy fed has branches at most of the military installations and they have 100% 24/7 us based customer service.webhopper, yes I am still in the military. I have heard a lot of good things from NFCU so I will probably look into them and their offers for next time. I also have good experiences with USAA as well. USAA is where I got my 11k CL AMEX from. Thanks for the input!
Thanks, I appreciate that. And that is great to know! Those are awesome promotions. I am not in the market for a new vehicle or anything right now, but when I am I will defintely have to check them out. Maybe in a few years. I have two auto loans right now, one with Chase, and another with fifth third bank, each one is capped at 4% thanks to the service member civil relief act. Not too bad, but that 1.79% is a lot nicer looking than my 4% lol. There is only a couple thousand left on each one anyways though so no big deal.
