Typical credit limit comparison

I want to make my hard pulls worth it. I have been pre approved for all of the cards on this list and want to get the 2 with the highest starting credit limit. In your experience, which credit cards on this list offer the average highest credit limit?
1) CITI Double Cash Card
2) AMEX Everyday card
3) Capital One Savor Cash
4) Bank of America Cash Rewards Credit Card
5) The Blue Cash Back Everyday from American Express

Re: Typical credit limit comparison

To begin with 2, 3 and 5 are SP requests there are just nuances when requesting your CLI. 1 and 4 are HPs though so those are needed to be taken into consideration. With 4 (BofA) typically those HPs are worth it as long as you request big and let them match or counter you. Citi I don't know if they're worth the HP.

Re: Typical credit limit comparison

These are starting credit limits your looking for? Amex was generous with me but I checked their pre qual site before I applied. It's an awesome balance transfer card too, the everyday cards.

Cap One is generous with starting limits if they have a nice intro offer. They also have a pre qual site.

Citi also gave me a nice starting limit but it was not one of their usual cards.

But it also depends on income, history, debt usage etc.

Re: Typical credit limit comparison

OP, it also depends which cards you have already, with which banks. If you have a long history with Capital One, your next CapOne card should be a good limit.

List out the cards and limits you already have.

Also, the Savor should be HP on all three bureaus. Other banks go with two together. I don’t think this is a factor, the card is either beneficial long term for you or not, but others will be influenced by how many bureaus get a HP on one app.

The future SP CLI is an important consideration. AMEX will likely start you out at $1k, but the available future SP increases are the easiest of any bank.
High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777
April 2022 EQ=811 TU=807 EX=805 - TU VS 3.0 765

Re: Typical credit limit comparison

Well if it helps, I got approved with amex with scores listed below, 30% total until, 70% on two cards, 0 balance on 9/11 cards and no lates for 15 months. I think their pre qual site is pretty solid but you can post your info and let someone with more experience look at it. I think they pulled experian but ill double check.

If balance transfer is your primary goal, plus their limits grow pretty well apparently.

Ah, well that makes more sense now that I looked back at it lol my bad. Well, out of those 5 I would decide on either one of the two AMEX cards because even if you don't start out with a "high" limit at 61 days you can request a CLI to 3X which can give you some leeway on the SL; just be mindful on the reward structures and redemptions for each of those two cards because they're different and warrant some thought beforehand. CapOne can be generous but that depends on how strong your credit report is. Citi and BoA are the harder ones IMO.

Re: Typical credit limit comparison

Citi does occasionally do SP CLIs.

I'm not aware of the exact rules, but when I was calling for a Prestige retention offer once the CSR asked if I wanted to apply for a SP CLI on my Costco card. It was only a 30% CLI or something, but it was via a SP. I think I've read about others calling in and requesting SP CLIs without a CSR first giving an invitation to apply.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: Typical credit limit comparison

I've tried finding where I can post my info so it shows up everytime, but can't find it. The general gist is:
17 year mostly positive credit history, with a diverse range (credit cards, student loans, vehicle loans, etc),TU score of 721, 31 percent utilization rate

Current credit cards:
Discover It cl $16500, but my utilization rate is 48 percent, a huge part of the reason I want to do a BT; Citi $500 cl, O percent utilization, care credit $3700 0 percent utilization
Store cards, both under 10 percent utilization:
Comenity 5250
Target 2000
