Thank you to everyone that contributed advice for best credit union to go after. After carefull consideration and several questions put to the credit reps at different CUs, I decided on DCU.Very nice service it would appear and a nice cash back visa reward card with decent interest rate 11%. They also offered to refinance my car lease which I will not take them up on. My starting limit is $3K. Thank you again everyone!!
How often does DCU give CLI's? When is the best time to ask for a CLI?
Congrats! I too just got approved today and was wondering the same thing about CLI love. Hopefully they are as nice about CLI as GE ![]()
Congrats on your approval! ![]()
I just got in with them in August, and I love them so far (the free monthly EQ Fico is a huge bonus, too).
Don't quote me, but I think I've read on here that you can ask for a CLI every 6 months, but it's an HP. (again, just trying to recall from memory, and that's not good so I'm very likely wrong
)

They seem to offer a good mix of services.I wonder if they give rewards on gas as well as travel expense ie airline tickets?

I'm honestly not sure, and would have to check their site to maybe find out. I didn't go for the rewards card; I have some of those, so I applied for the Visa Platinum with the lower interest rate in case I needed to carry a balance in an emergency.
I just got approved for their checking and savings on the 27th, and applied/approved for their CC on the 28th. I'm still waiting to get my member number and CC by mail. I only got $1,500 CL due to income and limited credit history (5 months with Capital One Secured). I'm still happy they gave me my first unsecured CC without a toy limit. ![]()
I'm in the process of opening up bank accounts with them (had to send them a copy of my driver's license and social security card yesterday). Today, I thought I would try for their credit card. Approved for $7500 which is my highest limit but I have to submit a recent paystub and they are supposed to contact me on how to do it. Congrats to all of us!

I was approved for 2k on the phone, but later got an email stating they can only give me $1,500 after recieving my paystub. ![]()
I was worried about ending up with a lower CL after reading some of the comments, but I got an email today stating that it would be a $7500 CL but I needed to send my most recent paystub. I sent that this afternoon and got a response back very quickly that I have definitely been approved with a $7500 CL but that they won't send it until I get my member number which is still in the works. By the end of the week, I should have that and they will send my card.
