Let me understand this. Pretty ignorant, I know. Let's say I shop at the Microsoft Store through UR portal which earns 4x/1$ spent. Is that in addition to the 1pp$ you earn on uncategorized purchases? So a total of 5x/$?

Not quite. It's 4X1, so you get a total of 4 pts/$1,. It's not 4X plus 1
Yes you get 4 points on the subtotal before taxes and you get 1 point for the entire amount so 5x points.
Yes or no? ![]()
It depends on the verbage. If it says "extra" cashback, that's in addition to the standard 1% on uncategorized purchases. If it doesn't say extra, then it's total.
Edit: Just checked the portal. Looks like all the stores say "extra" so it should be in addition to the standard 1%.

It will be however many points on top of what bonus you'd get without it.
Microsoft = 4% UR Bonus + 1% Everywhere = 5% Back
For Freedom Quarter:
Overstock = 3% UR Bonus + 4% Quarterly bonus + 1% Everywhere = 8% Back

Yeah, I was wrong. In this case it is an extra 4 pts for a total of 5 pts
Looking at

depends on your valuation of URs. So BeFrugal offers 7% + whatever your credit card gives you, TopcashBack gives 12% + cc rewards on non-game software etc...
