Right. I was one who downplayed the impact of the CSP 7% bonus going away, and this is only slightly bigger. But CSP was automatic, whereas for Chase I may have gone to the trouble to open an account so now I will complain.
But enough of these, along with partner devaluation, eventually makes it unattractive

I think ill be just fine.

I recently opened up a Chase checking and savings thankfully I didn't open it up for the 10% bonus but only because of a promo they were running of $400 for opening up a check and savings.. I don't think I spend enough on the card for this and the CSP nerfing to affect me. I use my EDP for most of my spending. Now if American Express would give back .01 cent cashback as an option that would be great.

yeah when i get my mr cards i will use that for ed spend probably, will still fall back to csp for dining and travel and freedom for 5% categories. This nerf didn't affect me but i could see people being upset about it . With that being said diversification is key when it comes to rewards cards imo.
I ditched the Freedom last month because the card wasn't growing and I barely used it. Much happier with my other cards.
Seems like many on these boards will be leaving Chase. Wonder if others will have the same reaction. Be interesting to see how this plays out for Chase.

I think many probably will ditch freedom as an everyday card, but i still find its useful in combination with CSP or Ink card or something. 5x on UR points with gas half the year and restaurants for one quarter i think itsn't bad.

For those that value URs highly, might still be attractive for everyday use.

Agreed, the 5x is great but many, myself included, get that with Discover. Never had the CSP, so that combo bonus never applied to me.

Possibly but the major categories of Gas and Groceries I would probably would use PRG or EDP. My personal situation is probably different than other people since i don't have access to any of the business cards so no 5x from GC. I was just playing devils advocate with Chase and freedom usage.

I can understand that i have both freedom and discover, the one thing sometimes with discove with restaurants , discover isn't accepted as widely as freedom. I still think the freedom -csp combo is really good to accumulate those UR points, if you don't have access to Chase ink cards.

The Freedom - CSP combo is good. Chase never thought me worhty of any of their signature cards, which is why I closed the Freedom. An $1.8K limit didn't meet my needs. I have lots more flexibility with Discover and Barclay. My daughter gets MR point with her PRG that I use from time-to-time, so those can be transferred to an airline.
