Anyone had this card ? I was pre-qual on their site, seems like a basic card with decent APR, and no annual fee's. It's also advertised as "generous credit lines"...what does US BANK consider generous ? Anyone ever responded to their pre-quals ? Is it as good as pre-approved ?
I have the Platinum card. Started with $2.5K CL and on my anniversary of one year, they auto CLI it up to 3K. Nothing since.
I just cold app'd US Bank on Saturday for the flex perks visa siggy. Said what most get: Reviewing my app (manually I suppose) and will let me know. At least no flat out denial. You won't know unless you try. ![]()

Yep, I have it.
It was pretty much my first card on my credit rebuilding journey. I now use it about once every 6 months just to get it activity.
It's true it's a very basic card, no thrills, apr can be decent.
I recommend getting some like a Cap One quiksilver if you can help it, it gives you cashback at 1.5%.
Also in my experience any time I was prequalifed, I got the U.S. Bank card twice.
US Bank Platinum was my first unsecured card, after having a secured card for a year. They gave me a $8,500 starting limit, which was awesome.
Later when I had more credit cards, I was able to PC it to a Cash+. Of my two Cash+ cards, the one that started as a Platinum has a much better APR.
Agreed with this.
U.S. Bank does seem to be a very stable CC to have. They are very conservative to start with, so they don't immediately start people with over crazy SL, but it's probably the only CC I feel confident swipping with not reviewing my accounta weeks or months prior.
You never know with Chase, Amex, Barclay due to alot of AA reports.
