I'm looking to get the Altitude Connect credit card. I don't have a US Bank checking or savings account just the credit card. Will having my current US Bank card be as good of a relationship with them as having a bank account? I ask because I've seen dps of people getting approved while being 3/12 new credit cards that had a checking account with US Bank.
The real question is, are you able to open a checking account them? I found out this weekend that I wasn't able open a personnel or business checking/saving to because they were no local branches within 50 miles of my location (or even in my state). If you do plan on opening an account they have a SUB promo going on current.
Open a 1 mo CD for $500 then you can open any other accounts with them. Brokerage, checking, savings, etc

Is this confirmed to work? I looked into their 'Standard CD' with an APY of just 0.25% which will earn a whopping $0.02 in a month. I don't moving money around but I would hate to do so and lose out on earning over 5% APY elsewhere.

The interest earned on $500 @ 5% for 1 month is $2.04. So it'd be up to you to decide if thats worth it to start a relationship with them. I live in one of the states they dont have physical locations in so I called with a few questions trying to open a Smartly Checking account and this is what the CSR told me. I'm gonna try it if I accept this new job (where I can control multiple DD), but if you beat me to it let me know, would be a good DP.

Point taken (I was more of thinking the lines of pulling funds a other HYSA and messing with the compounding APY). However I do have small pots money sitting in other accounts earning nothing, so I applied in opening a CD with US Bank. If approved I'll apply again for the banking account and report back. I already missed out on the SUB since I jumped over to WF's SUB, but the worst case is that I don't be approved to open a checking or savings acct, however with the CD open, I'm planting another seed to building a relationship US Bank.
