US Bank Rewards changed?

I have the Altitude GO and the Altitude Connect cards.  I used to be able to apply my Rewards points as a statement credit 1 cent per point, in 2500 ($25) increments.  When I went to do it yesterday, I had to stop myself as one card was 3125/$25, and the other was 3333/$25.  So I decided to see what direct deposit to my bank account would be, and sure as shyt, both cards were 2500/$25.  But, when I put in my bank account info, it said this option was only available for US Bank checking and savings accounts, no external bank accounts.

Just a heads up for those that have not seen the changes, and/or those considering the card.  I still love both cards (despite the recent capping of some of the rewards category), and have nothing negative to say outside of the fore mentioned.  I am just disappointed that I now need to open a new checking account to get my full rewards value.

$2000 - 11/23/23 - $750 ‐ 7/28/24
$2000 ‐ 10/24/24 - $500 ‐ 11/23/24
$2500 - 3/1/25 - $1000 - 4/2/25
$3000 - 3/17/25

Sucks.  US Bank seems to be in a little bit of a free fall here lately.  Get your stuff together, man!

Re: US Bank Rewards changed?

I remember when the Amex BCE had minimum thresholds for redemption and was thankful when that was finally lifted. Sad to see US Bank reverting to this archaic process.

Current active cards:
Amex - Platinum, BCP
BofA - Unlimited Cash Rewards Sig
Chase - CSR, Amazon Prime, United Explorer
Citi - Custom Cash, Costco Visa
TCL - $370k
CC utili - 2%
Experian - 818

Re: US Bank Rewards changed?

Yes, this change was announced late last year.  Here is one example of the discussion here on these forums:

https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/US-Bank-Real-Time-Rewards-devalue/m-p/6798351

Edit to add:  My Cash+ account is still allowing me to redeem for a statement credit at $25 for full value.  Real-Time-Rewards have already devalued for this card.

Re: US Bank Rewards changed?

Yep this change started rolling out for the Altitude Go and Altitude Connect back in April I believe.  The US Bank Cash + and Kroger Card have not been affected yet.

Re: US Bank Rewards changed?

Last time I did connect was into Us b checking, which they paid me a $500 bribe to open, I can be bought😃😃.

I recently applied an odd amount on shoppers to an Amazon purchase.
