Thank you folks for the clarification! Appreciate the info, I'm interested in one of their cards so this is great to know in advance.

I have a related question regarding this... if you are approved for a new card, will it report to the credit bureaus on the last day of the month if you get it late in the month? Is there a general cutoff?

example: approved on 15th, reports on 30th/31st?

Approved on 28th, report on 30th? Just wondering what is the best date to apply to delay reporting.

Both of mine reported after the first statement. AR was approved somewhere around June 20th, did not report till end of July.

If you really don't want it to report, apply  in the last week of the month

lol I'm AR fan girl.

As long as they don't touch mobile wallet and RTR, I'll offer them my firstborn yearly.

I ain't worried, because if you knew my firstborn, you'd know no one is taking Regina George.

I wonder if my kids will find this place once they mess up their credit and realize that it was me   talking about them

Just throw in a few misdirections   "Here in Florida...." etc.   Hopefully they won't remember "Wasn't Mom always going on about that stupid credit card,  Altitude Reservation or something?   And she was confused about hummus.   Wait a minute.....!!"

Or just claim it was either a) all well meant, or b) ironic.   Whichever will work best

I meant all of it!

I'm not worried, they gonna need my help when they get their first card (Discover), and it ends up being a CO six months later.

Re: US bank reporting by end of month regardless of statement closing date. Is this the norm for the

Yep that is consistent with what I know. A good way to simplify things is to apply for a US Bank card at the end of the month. Assuming the account is opened, it will start the billing on that opening date near the beginning of the month and avoid the hassle of trying to move a due date.

Of course, it's always easy to call in or change the due date, but I'm hesitant to call anybody telling them I want to delay my due dates in such a time like right now when lenders can only see alarm bells ringing when somebody is asking to move their due date which might scare them and trigger AA.
