USAA credit card

I applied for and got approved for a $500 credit card through USAA as we have been banking with them for the past 10+ years. What is a good percentage to stay under on the DTI with the card? I was thinking about charging around $50 on the card montly and then paying it off when the bill comes in. Is this a good idea? It would be primarily for our subscriptions that we have (i.e. Hulu/Netflix/Spotify/Apple Music) which comes out to about 50 dollars a month.

Re: USAA credit card

I have that same card. I pretty much never use it. If this is your first card with them check the website for any preselected offers. 2 weeks after I got that card they offered me the platinum 1.5% rewards card which is funny as that was the card I applied for in the first place. USAA is funny that way. As to use well use it all you want just remember to keep whatever you plan to report on t when statement time comes to preferably 10% or less of the limit which is $50. Good plan. LOL.

Re: USAA credit card

You definitely won't want to exceed 30% of your available limit, but 10% and below is typically the utilization magic zone to see the maximum boost to your score. If this is your only open revolving account, you also won't want to let it report a zero balance either. Having zero utilization/recent credit usage can drop your score as well.
