?   USBAR has worked fine for me on Samsung.

When posters are saying they use iPhones with Altitude Reserve, it's because Apple Pay is treated differently from Google Pay for some mobile pay transactions.  I only use Android, so I can only go by hearsay.  What I understand is that Apple Pay always codes as a mobile transaction for 3x whether the purchase is made in-person or online.  Google Pay only codes for me as a mobile transaction when I do an in-person purchase.  Choosing Google Pay via a website transaction has only given me 1x.

Re: USBAR nerfed, apparently.

To avoid hijacking this thread, I started another one where we can discuss our reasons for keeping or closing our Altitude Reserve accounts:

I'm not in a hurry to make changes.

A lot can happen between now and December... if U.S. Bank decides that the Smartly thing is a mess and they come up with a free checking account option the Connect would actually be a good fit for me.

Being slow to get rid of "useless" cards can sometimes pay off... my grandfathered Savor is a good example of this - before the change to Savor I nearly closed that card probably a half dozen times, LOL.  Another good example is the CareCredit Mastercard, which was rather 'meh' but now seems to be getting quite interesting (for me it's enough to ease a lot of the pain of the AR nerf).

And the silver lining around the cloud:  Once the change is complete I'll no longer have to hold my breath when doing a once-a-year redemption that the RTR text will come through.  I was always lucky - it worked as it should have - but I've read that others weren't always as fortunate and customer service was powerless when something did go wrong.

The checking is free for the old.

I thought you were "one of us!", "one of us!"

Are you a young uncle ?

I'm at just the right age to get the worst of both worlds... old enough for aches and pains (and AARP) but not quite old enough for the discounts and free checking, LOL. Smiley Frustrated grandpa.gif

This. ^^^

It wasn't the only reason I switched to iPhone, but it was definitely part of the equation.  While not a huge issue (especially once I figured out which Android apps didn't play nicely - looking at you, Dish Network...) it was a nuisance nonetheless.

With Apple Pay everything is coded correctly as mobile, both in-app and on the phone web browser.  Of course in a little over four months it will be a moot point. Smiley Indifferent
