Unauthorized hard pull from WaMu!

I applied for a Wamu card on March 7th online.  I was denied.   This morning I checked my Experian report and it shows Wamu did another hard pull on March 12th.   WTF????    The first inquiry was from a Cali address and this second unauthorized shows from Texas.
Who should I call to get this unauthorized inquiry removed?  WaMu? Experian?

Re: Unauthorized hard pull from WaMu!

I would call WAMU first.  Somebody on their end put this in play and you need to find out why.

Re: Unauthorized hard pull from WaMu!

FICO wise- the 2nd INQ is not hurting you- as FIOC de-dups these in scoring.

I would call them and see what is up- maybe an auto recon?

Re: Unauthorized hard pull from WaMu!

So I didn't call WaMu since their unauthorized second inquiry on 3/12 and alas in my mail today was a letter welcoming me to WaMu with an 8K line and 6 months 0% intro APR and 0% BT APR.   Smiley Happy

Very nice, very nice!  I'm still steamed with Wamu right now for closing my acct.  I'm calling them today to see if they've changed their minds.  But wow $8 K out of the shoot is SWEET!!

Re: Unauthorized hard pull from WaMu! WARNING!!! They do much worse things than that!

First off grats on the new credit line!

Second...be VERY VERY careful with your WAMU cc!!!

I've had my Wamu cc since Oct. 07 $1,500 credit limit everything was fine with them until this month when I received my bill and without any reason or prior notification they lowered my credit limit to 250.00!! I was shocked to say the least so I wrote to them via their online customer service option as they encourage you to do asking why this had happened and why wasn't I notified prior? All I got was a very generic reply stating that they periodically check their customers credit reports and ALL their other cc balances and thats what they base their decision on. I wrote back telling them that all my balances where at zero so that didnt make any sense to me and asked for them to reconsider their decision...again I got a generic reply email saying they routinely check their customers accounts for increases and a Thank you for using Wamu...no real answers, so I started looking into this.

Let me tell you I am hardly the first person they've done this to recently, Ive read so many horror stories from people about this exact thing and more like dramatic rate increases and poor poor customer service, people having their credit limit dramatically decreased (the standard seems to be everyone getting a 250.00 limit) AFTER they've already purchased more than that having no idea that their 4000 dollar limit is about to be knocked down to 250 bucks THEN getting charged with over the limit fee's & having it go on their credit report! With little or no help from Wamu about it! EVERYONE that Ive read about has received the exact same email as myself, its been terrible trying to deal with Wamu. I feel very bad for the trouble that WAMU has caused some of these people.

Luckily I keep all my balances low and pay them off every month since Im working on building my credit so I only had a balance of 132.00 on my Wamu card when they decreased my limit, now on a limit of $1,500 that looks good, but on a limit of $250 it makes me looked maxed out and yes it has hurt my credit.

So since there's nothing left I can do to fix my situation I hope that I can help others by warning them about a few of Wamu's shady practices. Best of luck to you. And check your credit limit CONSTANTLY, I cannot say this strongly enough!!
