Upgrade offer?

Hello all,

I just an email offer to upgrade my AMEX Blue Cash CC to Blue Cash Preferred, does anyone know if this is a hard pull on the credit report? When I click on the email link it takes me to Amex website with my invitation code and asks me to put in the last 4 of my social. It’s a good offer to me but I just don’t want another pull on my report. Also, I read the email and no where does it mention it’s going to run it, I just want to play it safe. I would post a screenshot of the email I got on her I just don’t know how to lol.
Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

Amex upgrade offers are based on their last soft pull of your credit report(s) so there's no hard pull to upgrade your account.

Re: Upgrade offer?

Before you take the offer, go to incognito mode and see what you can get in pre-qualified offers.

Re: Upgrade offer?

I’ve got pre qualified offers for multiple cards. Including all the charge ones, Everyday, Hilton, and Marriott. I already currently have BCE. Is there a better one I should be leaning more towards?

Are they offering an incentive to upgrade?    Usually they have a SUB offer.   I just got the email one without, but I just downgraded

Not that I’m aware of? I don’t know how to check for that lol. I log into and see pre qualified offers and see that upgrade and when I click on a credit card It says I’m pre approved for most of them.

The email would say something like "Get $250 back after spending $2000 in the first 90 days" or something.

Check the "Amex Offers & Benefits" section of the website. It should be at the bottom of the home page once you signed in. I got an upgrade offer there for my Marriott (which I took), and now, I am seeing one for my Delta. It is almost always a soft-pull (and pre-approved — at least in my case).
