Upgraded AMEX 2x in past 2 months

I originally received pre-selected invitation on the AMEX Preferred Rewards Green Card. App'ed and got it. $95 AF.

Then I got the pre-selected invitation on the AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold Card. Called CS and had them use the RSVP and upgrade Green to Gold. $125 AF. Up to 5 AU cards for $30 total.

Called CS today, and after discussing, upgraded to Preferred Rewards Gold PLUS Card with $150 AF. But, it allows for up to 5 AU cards at no additional charge. I plan to issue a couple and this will give me better rewards and save $15/year.

If you issue AU's and want gold card, then the PLUS is better overall, in my opinion.

Also, remember you can set a pre-set spending limit for each AU's card.

+1 on setting limits on those AU cards. Things like that can get out of hand in a real hurry as recent threads have confirmed. In my book AU's are limited to trusted spouse and responsible kids ..... no one else.

I recently added my gf as an AU on my Amex Gold card. As the others have mentioned, the online tool for managing the pre-set limit on the card is outstanding. It's very easy to use, and works great. She had reached her limit (it was the first month and as such I couldn't pay online yet) and I logged on, increased it by $100, and all was well.
