Howdy everyone. O've been searching for an answer to this and haven't quite found what I'm looking for.
I have a trip coming up and this card is finally eligible for upgrade(opened 8/17/18) and while Chase is generally nice to me I'm wondering if the ~35% balance I've been playing around with on a 0% APR Freedom will make them deny me.
Chase accounts are
CSP $40/6500 CL (just paid off the $2,350 blance that closed on this and should process by Monday)
FU $600/3700 CL
CF $3,250/8100 CL -APR promo ends April 2020 but I plan on paying it down before then
Only have Amex other than that but those are reporting
BCE $86/34,000 CL
Gold $498(closing tomorrow at $0 though)
Plat $312
EX is 766 right now and the others are generally hovering around 750
Income is 132k
Assuming Chase is okay with upping my CL to 10k on the Sapphire would those other balances make them think twice? Just curious if anyone has any experience here. I think this is a soft pull if I request it so I'll probably go for it anyhow.
Thanks for any help!
The request for a CLI to or above $10k will be a HP, possibly on 2 CRAs. In my experience, when eligible for a HP CLI, Chase has been happy to double the credit line. You can also reallocate credit lines without a HP between your Chase cards, although that will certainly cause your utilization to spike on the Freedom.
But otherwise, as long as you have the minimum $10,000 credit line and have held the CSP for at least a year (which you have) due to the CARD Act, there should be zero issues in doing the product change. If you have already paid the CSP AF, you will get a prorated AF refund along with a prorated AF for the first year of having the CSR.
Thanks for the advice! Sounds like I should just take the hard pull as I imagine that'll do less damage to my scores than moving credit around and having the Freedom at 65-70% utiliztion.
