Hi,
This is a bit confusing for me, as, I have never tried it. I need to use 2 cards for a single purchase. But, that's not the hard part.
I need to use a specific amount on both cards. 1 is my credit card which my limit is $500 because I am new. Discover said in 3 months they can raise my limit. But I need to buy my laptop before then for college. Basically, I need to use $500 from my Discover CREDIT card. And, the rest on my DEBT card from my bank. I have 200 in my paypal (about) and a little over 100 in my bank (currently). The laptop is $752.58 I saved $125 because HP managers gave me a code since I am staying with HP. The shipping is free for my item. So, $752.58 is the total. I'd have to use $500 on credit card and $252.58 on my debt bank card. How can I do this? I have PayPal connected to my bank if that helps...
The reason I need to use specific amounts on each is because I will be denied on credit if over my limit (i tried) and my bank will go into the negatives if I put it all on debt. I can pay back the card within the month. The issue is getting a successful transaction without going over what I have..
Thanks.
Just buy a Pre-paid card in the amount that you need So put $500 onto a Gift card using you Discover card and pay the rest with your debit card or vice versa.
Closingracer99 I didn't think of just buying a PayPal gift card with my credit card for $500. I see what you mean.
Since I have my debt linked to my PayPal, I can just use my PayPal only, and without using two cards. Works perfect.
j_casteel that'd work too, but i'm buying online, because the discount and coupon is for online only.
you can probably make a phone order as speak directly to a sales person
That's really a question for the retailer you intend to purchase from versus a credit question. Keep in mind that maxing a card will have a significant impact on your credit. Make sure you pay it down as quickly as possible to avoid AA.

Yeah ... My TU FICO score took a Dip of over -50 when my account posted my Discover card basically maxed out for the month because I bought something right before the billing cycle ended. Was around 734 before and went down to 650. The month after it went up to 704 and been steady around there for a few months
