Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I am fairly new to credit card rewards, and I have been searching for an anwer about this and can't find anything.
Can I transfer points to a travel partner (let's say Virgin) from multiple issuers (let's say Chase & Citi) and pool them for a single plane ticket/transaction?
I've never actually transfered points to a travel partner, so I don't yet know exactly how the process works, but it would be great if I could use points from multiple issuers for the same trip.
Thanks for any help you all can give!!
Yeah this is not a problem at all. Just keep in mind some points take longer to transfer to partners than others so always best to hold awards when possible. Can usually achieve this with a phone call if the carrier allows it.
Ok awesome!! so I should call issuers and make sure it's allowed? I need a new cc and I already have Chase Freedom Flex, but I'm not ready to get a Sapphire card. Was thinking of getting Citi Custom Cash, but I'm a fairly low spender and I want to be able to take a vacation on points in this lifetime lol. If I can't pool the points I'd get another Chase card or start building points from Citi or somewhere else (I don't have many Chase points yet, it was converted from the Slate card which didn't earn rewards).
Well you will need one of the chase sapphire cards to transfer to an airline. So might as well get that chase sapphire preferred especially with the elevated bonus
Three travel credit cards from Chase—the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve and Ink Business Preferred Credit Card—allow you to move points to Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners at a 1:1 ratio.
Yes that Sapphire Preferred bonus is amazing right now. My only concern is the spend is a little high for me, but with the holidays coming up I think I can swing it. But yes I did know that you need one of those cards to get travel points. I just figured I would build the points up with the Flex and get a Sapphire later. But it's like an all time high bonus from what I understand, so I might as well get it now.
