Utilization EOM

I've paid off all my CC balances (about 13k) and am now PIF on all cards.  If I'm using the cards, will it matter if i pay them down to ZERO or should I leave between 1-9% when the statement reports to show that I'm using the cards responsibly?  Should I leave a balance on all of the 3-4 cards that I use?  What's the ultimate mix of balances to zero balances?

IMO, having 1-2 cards reporting a balance should be good. 0 on all four is no good.

This is assuming you got 4 cards. If you got 3, balance on 1 is good.

Re: Utilization EOM

I have Citi (5.5k), Chase (2k), Cap One (4k) and HSBC (450).  Also AU on Chase (2.2k), Cap One (1.5k), and Express (1.7k).  What percent should I leave "unpaid" and should i leave a balance on a consistent card or revolve through all 4?
