Also consider asking the CU if being a member of chamber of commerce of a city in their geography. You are still a member of a 'local organization'

1. Some of the small cities/counties have chambers of commerce have low membership costs (compared to the rewards to be gained over the years).
2. Most chambers do business and fundraising jointly with the CUs and also hold their funds so they tend to not say no to chamber members.

@Wu-Credit I am outside of Maricopa County, the area they service. I simply told them that I worshipped at the Mormon Temple located at 5220 W Pinnacle Peak Rd in Glendale, AZ — inside Maricopa county. The person who aided me (I applied in person) went away for 5 minutes then came back with a smile, and I was in.
