Google searches seem to all suggest that the minimum starting limit for the cap1 Venture with the 75k miles sub is $5k.
but some searches here suggest otherwise.
cruising the approvals board I see a few 3k sl approvals.
Anyone know of this is the new minimum?
My understanding is originally it was 5k because I have that card. Since January it looks like 3k approvals have happened but I wouldn't say that's the norm.
I believe that the minimum credit limit remains 5K for the SL. However, card issuers have been known to issue limits below their advertised minimum limit for a number of reasons- US Bank comes to mind with limits below what they state, as well as Chase on the occasion for their CSP( not the CSR- I think Chase is but stricter on visa infinite cards). But US Bank will give visa infinite limits below 10K. YMMV and one may just meet the approval criteria or the bank just prefers to develop a relationship with the account holder.
If you're planning on app'ng for the Venture Rewards and hoping for a decent limit, I would make sure your uti/DTI is low when app'ng not carrying any big balances and it would help if you experience of managing decent limits with other lender(s) if applicable. G'luck to you.
Issuers have not been adhering to Visa's and MC's minimum SL for a while now.
I have seen many $1,000 SL for the World Elite MC Apple Cards and one at $250.
@NoMoreE46I generally agree, but it does seem that Chase and Cap 1 do adhere to Visa Infinite 10k mins on CSR and VX. I've yet to see either of those issued with limits below.
C1 threw me a $3000 SL on the Venture two years ago.
