Re: VentureOneSM Rewards Credit Card

Hi...have you tried their online pre-qualification?

We are looking at a different one of their travel rewards cards...but we haven't tried the pre-qual yet.

I see this card is for those with "Excellent Credit." Do you fit in their category for that?

Re: VentureOneSM Rewards Credit Card

Dear Lynette,

I fit in the category for excellent credit except I only have a total credit limit of $5,000, do you think I might have a chance?

Boy...I don't know. Credit has gotten so tight lately. All the companies are twitchy. You probably don't quite fit into their category for that card yet. What are your scores?

We haven't apped for our choice yet. We do fall into the "Excellent" category, but another forum member said that he fit into the category but was denied because they said he didn't have enough paid down on his mortgage. We have a mortgage for a rental property that is not two years old yet, so that made us nervous to app. Not very much is paid off. We have a card that turns a year old in May, so we will wait until at least then.

Maybe you want to start a thread asking what people's experiences have been with the Cap One pre-qualification site for these upper end cards. From the title of this thread, no one knows it's CapOne. CapOne has different categories of cards, and I don't read a lot about the upper end ones.

Re: VentureOneSM Rewards Credit Card

Thanks to MyFico forum, my EQ has increased from 681 to 753 due to a GW success. I also asked my relative to put me on her long lasting Amex and become a AU of that card, hopefully that will increase my average age of my credit history and I will wait and see for the right time to apply.

Total CL doesn't count.  CapOne is requiring that you have at least one CC that has greater than a $10k CL by itself.

Does Amex AU charge card count?

Re: VentureOneSM Rewards Credit Card

Not unless it reports a HIGH BALANCE greater than $10k, which would demonstrate it has that level of credit.

Re: VentureOneSM Rewards Credit Card

Hi txjohn...do you have one of the CapOne's? I was looking at the one called the Professional Ultra (or something like that)...but I don't see that one on their list anymore.

Someone came on a while back who had 800+ FICOs and said they were declined for that one due to their mortgage not being paid down enough.

What can you tell us about apping for the higher-end Cap One's?
