Said "your request could not be processed".
So I tried once more, same thing, called in.
They said even though the system was down for activation, it put a block on my account for too many attempts.
I was put on hold over 30 minutes for them to lift this.
Says on their website "receive $25 when you open a walmart credit card and spend $75 today".
When my card came, I spent $75 on some groceries and called to double check.
They said the purchase had to be made the "same day". I told them it kinda takes time for it to come in the mail.
They argued, rather rudely, and said that when I applied, it should of gave me a temporay pass.
I told them "I had to call into activate, they never gave me a temporay pass".
The basically told me "oh well" and I'm sol.
On a lighter note, I did get my free fico, its 712 on TU, up 8 points.
You are given a temporary pass/card if you apply in store
When you apply online, the walmart credit card is automatically added to your walmart account so you can make purchases using it immediately.
Also, this probably wouldn't have happened had you listened to everyone who said to stop apping for stuff. Just saying.
well it has happened to a number of us so while op has maybe applied for way to many things and doesn't heed advice very often... this is a ge issue and the reps are usually ugly. and op deserves his/her $25 if first purchase was $75 regardless of when that first purchase was.... I didn't have access to my card number until nearly 2 weeks after being approved so no it's not put online instantly if you have to go through security questions with ge

If you have to answer security questions with GE, then they should work with you on it. All I know is it all worked fine for me, so it's possible.

+1 - there was no temp card in my walmart profile, I spent 10 mins trying to complete the purchase aft the sec call - figured I would just wait for the card to arrive and thought it would be a non issue. I just did what you suggested CA and pm'd a request to issue a statement credit.

let it go involver. Let it go. You are in a long line. Trying to explain. N
Inquiring minds want to know.....was it a MC?
@FixMyCredit1992 wrote:Upon some further reading, when one normally applies for the card, it will says "congrats, your approved", and they will be given a temp pass.
But I was given a screen with a number to call in for manual verification, for some odd reason I had to do this for every card, even though I have no FA on my file.
Since I had to be manually verified, it appears I was screwed out of $25.
Hmmm...I was approved for the card like two days ago but i remember the offer is good until december. I didn't shop right away w/ my temp pass after reading that, I was just going to wait until the card arrives.
So to anyone tracking - i received a response to my online pm from Synchrony indicating they issued a statement credit for the opening bonus - much more pleasant than the initial phone call was.
I am having serious doubts about the credit history of the original OP.. There are too many coincidences and situations that just happen to be occurring to them. Some of it may be due to OP not listening and heeding the forums advice, while others may be the creditors trying to save face and are symptoms of AA, in good faith I cannot take anymore of the ops situations at face value unless another forum member has the same situation... Still feel like we're being led on. You can't help folks who aren't willing to help themselves or listen and abide by some/all of the advice they are given..

Don't shop at Wally's World stores for a month. That will teach them a lesson.

It doesn't matter what your score is. Your score isn't doing anything for you. I'm not trying to be mean but you really need to get back into reality. Your constant applying is preventing you from getting great cards. You keep applying for subprime cards that most people don't want or don't need unless their financial situation is dire. You're creating the issues here and not the companies you get mad at. People have gone out of their way for nearly a year to try to help you out and you just throw it back in their faces. The same people have given me advice too. The same people will also tell you that if you start getting toy limits it's time to stop applying. You're not accomplishing anything and if you do get prime cards I can't picture them giving you non toy limits. I'm not excusing anyone being rude to you but nobody will take you seriously until recent inquiries stop appearing on your credit history.
