Victoria's Secret credit card help please

Hi all, I just got a Victoria's Secret credit card and am needing some help with it, so if anyone who has the card could lend some advice, that would be greatly appreciated. I am aware that this bank doesn't have the best reputation but I shop at the store often and the coupons are good plus I needed to open another credit card account (am trying to build credit) so I thought I would give it a try. I currently only have Capital One, Nordstrom, and the Victoria's Secret card. Credit Sesame had given me a D grade in the amount of accounts that I had open (for not having many credit cards and I currently have no loans or anything), and I am trying to better my credit to buy a home within the next 2 years, so I thought I would try to get a Victoria's Secret card.

Anyways, I was approved. The card came in the mail. I called and activated the card. Then, I placed an online order on the Victoria's Secret website with the card immediently afterwards. After that, I signed up for Paperless billing and went into account manager online. However, it still says Account Balance: 0. The charge that I just made isn't showing up on account manager anywhere. I definitely charged it on my Victoria's Secret card, I got an email order confirmation that says so. So it's not like I charged it on the wrong card by accident. Granted, it's only been 15 minutes since I placed the order but still, it says account balance: 0. I don't even see a button that says Pending Transactions anywhere. I'm just confused that my charge isn't showing up anywhere. My experience with Capital One (I know, not the same bank though), has been that the charges show up immediently even if it's just under Pending, they still show up immediently. Especially for me, I like to pay things off immediently.

I just want to get this sorted out because I can see how this can lead to problems. (If it says that I owe nothing online when I actually do owe something, I could get past the payment date & it could count as a missed payment.) It says that my payment date is actually coming up soon, and I'd like to pay off my recent charge by then but it still doesn't say that I owe anything online. If I could get the answer to this on here that would be great, since I hate talking to customer service. When I called to activate the card, they kept trying to talk me into account insurance and they didn't really want to accept no as an answer. Please help. Thanks in advance. Smiley Happy

First, do not listen to Credit Karma or any other site like that- you don't NEED more cards to improve your credit.

They make money when you apply from their site. That said, if you want & have a need for other accounts, apply as you wish.

I promise you VS will add the charges to your card when they ship or shortly after.

I order from there a LOT & I have a VS card, often it takes a couple days after shipping for the charges to post..

In addition; you should have 10 days or so after the charges post( check your closing dates) before the min payment is due- make more than the min pmt or pay it off completely, for best results.

OP, overthinking things way too much given you made the purchase within a 15 minute timeframe. No need to stress out. Take a deep breath, relax and let things flow naturally.

As mentioned above, once your order is shipped/delivered it will post to your account. You have two options from there if you wish to PIF: submit a payment online via their interface or push your payment from your bank's bill payer service.

Re: Victoria's Secret credit card help please

First and foremost congrats on your approval.
Second, go to AMEX and see if you pre qualify.
Lastly, it normally takes them 2-3 days, sometimes until the day it ships, BUT it should show that your available credit should of decreased by the amount u spent,
Example, if your limit is $1000 and spent $400 the place where it show “available” limit will show $600.

Hope this helps.

Oh, don't worry, Victoria Secret's WILL charge your card, haha! It takes awhile for the transaction to actually post BUT if you want to make sure, check your available credit line (it should have gone down). Calm down, take a deep breath and relax haha!
