Victorias Secret Store Card

Hey everyone, hope all is well.

My fiance has bad credit so shes been an AU on a couple of my cards for a while. She told me today that she applied and was approved for a VS card. Upon a quick search at work I found it basically gives 4% at the base tier with a cap before being able to redeem. She also mentioned she gets extra if she pays it off at the register, which seems odd but I wont complain.

Anyone have any other info or things they wish they knew about this card? I do a lot of research before getting any of my own so just tryin to do some post acquisition due dilligence.

Thanks for any input and hope you all enjoy your Tuesdays.

It can be used at Bath & Body Works, but doesn't earn any rewards for those purchases, unfortunately.

IIRC, once you achieve the next or upper tier threshold it's usually when the additional benefits can be maximized.

Re: Victorias Secret Store Card

VS is a good rebuilding card.  They often award SL way in excess of what you would spend there.  It can be very helpful in padding your UTL.  No major downside to this store card.

Re: Victorias Secret Store Card

Thanks to you both, good to know. They gave her a 250$ SL which is plenty for a single store and she plans to pay it off at the register every time. She has never had a card in her name and score is dragged down from parents putting her name on med bills as a kid and not paying them off so this is her only line of credit. I have her on my Uber visa and Amex BCP but thats about all the positive history she has.

Im assuming store cards work like regluar ones in reporting so I'll have the talk with her this weekend about leaving 10 bucks on it through the statement close and then PIF since she mentioned paying it off immediately as she charges to it.

Re: Victorias Secret Store Card

VS is liberal about CLIs.  They are soft pulls.  Have her use the card responsibly and she should see some major growth at 6 months.  Many have had CLI success at 3 months.

Re: Victorias Secret Store Card

There are quite a few discounts that come through to card holders on a regular basis.  Just tonight my wife ordered ten pairs of panties for $35, which is quite a deal compared to regular VS prices.  We get free panties with any purchase coupons or 50% off certain categories.  Free shipping with any bra purchase can be quite helpful as well.
