Visa like AMEX?

I went to americanexpress.com and was able to fill out a form that claimed to do a soft hit and recommend which american express i should apply for.  I was approved for the gold card, but don't know the limit yet.  Does anyone know of a site where I can do this with visa or mastercard?  I don't know which one I should apply for, and don't want to have a bunch of useless hits on my credit.

As I know the AE Gold card does not have a credit limit. It's no pre-set limit.

BTW ,You can try BOA , Capital one and/or HSBC I think they have their own pre approval link like AMEX.

Congrats on the Amex approval!  There's a thread on this site for this purpose, though a link or two (such as WaMu) are no longer available:

Personally, I would not rely on preapproval sites.  If your credit is good (as it appears to be by the Amex approval), just find a particular card from any bank/credit union that you want and apply.  Preapprovals are overrated.
