So, I was expecting a credit step increase on my cap one card within the next month. It started at 300 and the credit step welcome letter said it would go to 500 by the 7th statement. The account was opened back in March and was my first card in the rebuild process.
I logged in today to check my balance and pending transactions. They increased my limit to $1,300. Perhaps its a mistake....... ??? Perhaps they are modifying their lending practices........ ??? After reading the trouble others in the forum had with requesting increases on their rebuilder cards, even if they have had them with a 500 or so limit for YEARS, I was expecting the same down the road. I was expecting that I would be closing this card in a year or so once my profile was strong enough for better cards/better limits.
Maybe, just maybe, this will be my only increase EVER on this card.
If anyone is wondering, some months I reported a balance of 10 bucks, some I reported the whole balance (real close to the 300 limit), some I paid in full. I always pay this card, and any others I have, in full by due date though.
Congrats is this a capital one secured card?
Wow that's a nice increase. CapOne does seem to be loosening the noose a little...
No, its the platinum rebuilder for average credit. The one with the $19 annual fee thats waived for the first year.
Thats awesome! Congrats Capital One is Great!
Congrats
Congrats !!
Congratulations! I've had my card for 4 years and its still stuck at $500, despite all my other cards being much higher limits now. It used to make me mad but now I just laugh at it.
Your increase shows there's still hope.
Congrats! You must haave a mighty large crowbar to kill the monster guarding their CLI department.
