Citibank's really terrible honestly a few months ago they were requiring everybody to submit 4506C and locking everybody out their account for weeks

That WSJ article hit them hard. If they're really doing this for everyone they locked out, then good on them for making things right.
They sent out the links. They approved the folks who used them. It's on them. They easily could have made the links single use only. They could have not sent the links in the first place. They could have just made the online offer 100K for 4K. So many things they could have done to avoid the ensuing fiasco.

Agreed @CreditCuriosity. Perhaps Citi's seeming generosity is based on some deeper customer injuries that aren't yet public, and need to be contained...
