Re: WaMu CLI

I have a Providian Plat Visa and although it isnt a WAMU card i believe they are just about the same as WAMU bought out Providian.

I had an initial CL of 1500 back in 2005 and they have done 1 CLI sometime in 2006 to make the overall CL 2500.  Since then my scores have increased from the 580 range into the 720-750 range and they havent given me any type of CLI.

I have asked for a CLI twice within the past 6 months and they have replied both times that they do them on their on and not through a request.  Still no increase.  The card just sits in the safe anyways, as i have much better cards now, AMEX Blue Cash, Discover More, etc, etc with limits 10x higher, so it doesnt bother me at all.  No AF on the card = sit in the safe and be ready to buy a pack of gum once every 6 months.

WTF is correct. One step above CrapOne. The only reason to get or keep the card is the free FICO score.

Re: WaMu CLI

I agree with the OP's.

I have had this card and paid on it (never late),never went over my CL or even close to it for that matter. And still no CLI from them. I got, "the computer generates this information and we will send you a letter if your credit line has increased."

I say keep it active until you can get a better card. At the time that I got the card it was my best with the best limit. Now it's my worse with the lowest limit.

On the other hand I do like those free FICO scores.

Re: WaMu CLI

WaMu does not do CLIs on request but when they do CLIs, they give good ones.  Sit back pay your card on time, keep uti low and they will definitely bump you to a limit you;ll be happier with.  My limit increased 5Xs the original limit in one year with only two increases. One every 6 mos.  Hoping for a good one in Dec.

My orig CL was 1k in June 06, 5K June 07.  I have come close to maxing mine out on BTs (repeatedly) but paid them off in the promo period.

Re: WaMu CLI

I have had my card over a year and haven't received an increase either.    In fact, I just received offers for balance transfers and that is at the balance transfer rate fee of 5% Smiley Surprised; the highest I ever seen.  I haven't heard anyone else report that they are paying 5% as a balance transfer fee.  My max would cap at $150.00, however.

I have paid them in full and now they are in the sock drawer.   I prefer using myfico scores as I have had better success with them as opposed to the WAMU credit score which always list my score lower than FICO does.

5% YIKES!!  Was it life of balance? I've never paid more than 2.99% and usually 1.99 and haven't taken them up on one lately.  Mine have always been capped at 150.00, the terms are just too short.

5% definitely not much of a deal at 6mos with a 5% BT fee.

Brammy,  did you initiate the CLI by calling and asking about it to learn that they don't do them on request or did the increase just show up on your account?

I've read in a couple of posts about people not receiving CLIs from WAMU after a year or so.

Just curious (I have the card and I'm approaching my 6 month mark at the end of November).

I didn't call them it was funny cause, like you, I was approaching that six month mark and biting my nails for my statement to drop, so I could run to the phone.  Signed in to my account and there was the new statement and the new credit limit
