Wal-Mart Credit Limit Decrease !!!!

I've had my Wal-Mart account since 11/2012. I finally paid the balance completely off. CL $300. My credit limit was reduced to $100. I have no clue as to why. All of my payments haven't completed posting.  There has been monthly usage  up until 12/2013 been paying off balances getting credit in order.  I have 100% payment history on all my accounts.

Re: Wal-Mart Credit Limit Decrease !!!!

Oh wow, I use my Walmart card all the time. I have a $400 Cl and have to make a couple of payments to make sure I don't have high utilization; my card is actually fairly new too. How long have you had the card and  Were you ever over your limit?

Re: Wal-Mart Credit Limit Decrease !!!!

Have your CR's changed since you got the card?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

I think creditaddict has a point, fight for it to be reversed. But imo, I think u need to know why it happened to prevent it in the future.

Yes my credit has changed for the better. Yes, I have obtained several new TL's and a few from GE. PayPal Smart Connect, TJMaxx, and Dillards. I have 4 other GE accounts I've been a AU since 2009 all have $0 balance. I have had 14 negative accounts removed from my CR compared to 2012 when I was approved for the card. Current UTLI is 27% overall. I was not over the limit. No late fees 100% payment history.

My guess is GE looked at your total exposure and cut the limit.

Lately due to them being sold this has happened in some cases..

Some people have closed cards to get other new GE cards Ron1 comes to mind.

Sorry they did a CLD but take CA's advice and call I've also seen cases of reinstatement rare but sometimes

Re: Wal-Mart Credit Limit Decrease !!!!

They lowered my husbands limit some 6 mos ago and today they lowered mine.  I'm pretty well over Walmart anyway.  They lowered mine from 1600 to 1460??? dumb amount but whatever.  Always paid on time ect.  We actually improved our credit and bought a new home, debt to income went down recently ect.  My thinking was that I didnt use it enough perhaps.  I have recently become very against shopping at walmart for anything....so bye bye Walmart.
