Re: WalMart card

It is a good card to have if you shop at Walmart a lot. They only approved me for $640 in 2005. They didn't have any Walmart Discover. Recently. I got approved for Walmart Discover  for $2.2K.  They pulled TU. By the way, it gives you TU FICO as bonus monthly.

You're above the 700, to a creditor, you are in the minimum risk category.

Re: WalMart card

I shop at Wal-Mart and Target a lot, but I haven't really read good things about the Target card (minus the 5% discount). The monthly score would be nice and so would the gas savings. 5 cents makes a difference over time.

True statement. I guess I sometimes forget how good my credit is. It wasn't always that way. College was rough. But after getting a ton of rejection letters and getting a job with steady income, I've turned that circumstance right around. Being here on myFICO I've learned lots of valuable information about what kinds of things I qualify for.

They are both nice card to have.  Target has 5% discount on everything and offered no financing.  Walmart doesn't offer 5% discount but they offer 0% promo from time to time plus gas discount at Walmart gas station (Murphy USA). I like them both.

My car takes up to 26. The most it ever took was 24 and I nearly cried when it stopped. Good thing gas prices aren't astronomical where I live.
